Adidas...

One time we (our class) watched a movie about the enterprise adidas. I remembered this movie some days ago, there is an interesting story behind it I want to tell you.

18th August, 1949 the shoemakers master Adolf Dassler founded adidas.
Adidas is sportfashion most known for footballshirts, wintersport fashion, shoes ….
With the profit of the world champion's title by the German national team with the football world championship in 1954 in Bern, the football boots from adidas became known worldwide.

The shoes were so special because the german team used Adi ( like his friends called him) Dasslers football boots with which the tunnels could be exchanged. At the same time it was a revolution.
The enterprise 'puma' of Dasslers brother Rudolf, was long time one of the most sharp competitors of sports shoes. When the brothers were younger they've worked together and founded an enterprise, but after some short time there was a big fight between both brothers and their families.

Both companies produced the whole range in sports shoes for a huge number of sports. Adidas produced increasingly also other sports articles, at first footballs, from 1967 also sports clothings. 1978 Adi Dassler passed away but the enterprise which was meanwhile a world market leader for sports article was continued by his family. In 1990 the family Dassler sold 80 percent participation in the French enterpriser Bernard Tapie.

In 2006 there was a big discussion about adidas supports child labour, because they producing south asia.

Maybe you now the most famous slogans of adidas "Adidas makes you better." and "Impossible is nothing." ( which actually I think isn't  right english grammar ,shouldn't it say  ' Nothing is Impossible' ?)
